British Cycling Coaching and Education has announced it will be hosting its first webinar, Coaching for Women and Girls, in partnership with TrainingPeaks. In support of British Cycling’s vision to inspire one million more women to get on their bikes, the webinar will take place on Monday 25 November from 8pm to 9pm (GMT).

The Coaching for Women and Girls webinar is the first of a planned series of coach development opportunities. It is aimed at Level 2 and Level 3 coaches, with an interest in helping to encourage more women to participate in the sport and developing the performance of female riders. Experts from British Cycling and TrainingPeaks will provide insight on the following topics:

  • Differences between male and female athletes
  • How these differences may affect coaching practice
  • How to track training data using TrainingPeaks

The experts will also be joined by elite rider and coach, Helen Scott. Helen has many accolades to her name, including two medals from the London 2012 Paralympics. She has also recently achieved her Level 3 Certificate in Coaching.

What is a webinar?

We’ve received feedback from coaches suggesting that finding time to take advantage of learning opportunities can be a challenge. A webinar is simply an online conferencing service, which overcomes that challenge by allowing coaches to attend a workshop from wherever they have an internet connection. Attendees can pose questions to presenters during the presentation, using a messaging service.
