South East Coaching Bursary - Raising Your Game
The Raising Your Game project provides bursaries for Level 2 coaching courses to keep the cost of coaching qualifications down to a minimum, ensuring that the South East has qualified coaches for the build up to the London 2012 games.
Funded by the European Social Fund, and driven by SkillsActive, the project works with a range of providers which includes British Cycling, enabling many people to have access to coaching qualifications. The initiative also provides training for those who are already volunteer coaches.
The project ends in Dec 2010 where the aim is to have engaged over 900 coaches from a range of sports including badminton, basketball, cycling, equestrian, golf, hockey, judo, netball, tennis, swimming, squash, rugby union and rugby league.
Candidates must be over 19 years of age and live in the South East of England. They will need to book onto a Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Cycling wherever is suitable for them to attend and pay the full course fee on booking. On completion of the full course their certificate of achievement will be used as evidence to claim a £200 bursary.
Please note that there will be some additional paperwork on top of the L2CCC course work to complete on behalf of Skills Active and ESF although this has been kept to a minimum.
