Athens Velodrome

Built in 1991 for the Mediterranean Games, the Athens Velodrome was refurbished to host track cycling at the 2004 Olympic Games, a memorable moment for the Great Britain Cycling Team as Chris Hoy and Bradley Wiggins both collected their first Olympic gold medals.

The stadium was finished in 2004 and holds the track, which is made of Afzelia wood.
