British Cycling are privileged to have an army of over 14,000 amazing volunteers, whose passion, enthusiasm and support make cycling happen, and we would love for you to join them
If you have a skill you want to share, a desire to meet new people or a passion to get more involved in cycling, then with over 70 different volunteer roles available we’re sure there’s one for you.We recognise that every person's motivation to volunteer is different but whatever your reasons, our number one priority is to make sure that you have a great experience.
Our programme of volunteer support provides you with the opportunity:
- to learn,
- to achieve your goals,
- to meet like-minded people,
Volunteers tell us that their experience has led to them making new friends, increased feeling part of a community and increased their confidence.
However you choose to volunteer, be it at a club, a major event, a Let's Ride Pop Up or at a race, you will be making a huge difference and inspire more people to get out on their bike.

Coaching is at the heart of the sport at every level whether teaching basic bike handling skills in a club through to training athletes for the Olympic Games.
There are thousands of cycling events every year, from local races to National Championships. Volunteer roles at events can range from providing refreshments or manning sign on, to being an appointed official to ensure the events are safe, fair and most importantly fun, or getting stuck into organising an event yourself to create opportunities for riders to participate in your local area.
Cycling clubs are run by dedicated volunteers who work hard behind the scenes to make the club work, with a number of different volunteering opportunities to meet a range of skills why not get involved.
If you are interested in leading rides and inspiring more people to take part in cycling or helping out at pop up events around the country then our recreation programmes are a great way to make a difference.
