Welcome To Yorkshire Day two of the Dalby World Cup, and Yorkshire is welcoming the Worlds best mountain bikers in the way only it knows how - with predominantly open blue skies and some of the finest trails. Venture a little from the forest however, and you're sure to happen upon the reasons why Yorkshire is seen by many as England's beautiful county.

Event Buildup One year on from winning the UCI award for best cross country mountain bike World Cup, British Cycling have again transformed Dalby Forest from trail centre to host venue of an international elite sporting event.

Friday 20 May: This year's event will once again kick off on the Friday with the Pro Sprint Eliminator, an evening of non-stop street bike racing in the historic local town of Pickering.

Saturday 21 May: On Saturday there is the chance for Mountain Bike enthusiasts to tackle a lap of the World Cup course (plus a fine selection of other trails) in the "Dalby Dare" mass-participation event. Enter the Dalby Dare and you get a weekend ticket thrown in! There are also the Junior and Under-23 World Cup races.

Sunday 22 May: This is the climax of the three days as the world's elite Cross-Country mountain bike riders battle it out on a spectacular course that will once again include features like Medusa's Drop, Worry Gill and Dixon's Hollow, each of which proved a massive hit with the fans in 2010. Pre-event tickets for the 2011 UCI Cross-Country Mountain Bike World Cup in Dalby Forest, Yorkshire (May 20-22) are on sale at the event's official site www.mtbworldcup.co.uk. For the second year running the World Cup weekend visits the stunning North Yorkshire venue of Dalby Forest for an event that was awarded the title of ‘Best Cross Country World Cup round' by the UCI in 2010.

There are 20% discounts on all tickets for the event for British Cycling members, who should by now have received a members-only discount code by email. Alternatively, call the British Cycling membership services team on 0161 274 2010 and have your membership number ready and they will supply you with the code.
