Ian's Dalby Dare

British Cycling's Chief Executive, Ian Drake got back into the saddle at the Dalby MTB World Cup and tackled the Dalby Dare, the open challenge event which took in a timed lap of the World Cup course and a selection of the venue's other trails.

A former racer in several disciplines, Ian was keen to sample the Dalby trails during a weekend-long visit to the World Cup. He joined the other participants on the start line on a warm, sunny afternoon. Just over an hour and forty minutes later he crossed the finish line after a tough but rewarding ride. He spoke to us immediately afterwards and admitted he'd been surprised at how hard he found it:
