As well as world class athletes, it is important to have world class backroom staff to support them. Amongst that backroom staff is Lead Physiotherapist Phil Burt, who will be giving you the insight into staying injury free all season long as one of our experts.

Phil qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1999 and since then has worked with some of the best teams and athletes in this Country and the World. In 2006 he started to work with British Cycling and through his dynamic, world leading approach quickly became the Lead Physiotherapist to the teams that dominated Cycling at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Games.

In addition to his clinical role Phil also plays a critical role within the now infamous Marginal Gains team or “Secret Squirrel Club”. This role has combined his wealth of elite sports injury management experience with horizon scanning and innovative thinking, always searching for the next performance gain.

This role is also in conjunction with his work for Team Sky, as Consultant Physiotherapist Phil has a remit of bike positioning ,being one of only 8 expert bike fitters in the world certified by Retul University.

Phil Burt will be passing on his hints and tips on staying injury free and bike set-up.
