The return of British Cycling coaching, ride leadership and cycle training courses was well received by tutors and learners alike last weekend, and British Cycling has now confirmed new course dates for October and November.

Following the publication of new guidance on safe course delivery in August, courses were adapted to limit time indoors and to ensure that social distancing could be maintained. In the past week alone over 60 learners have successfully achieved a new qualification with British Cycling.

British Cycling Ride Leader Tutor, Alison Lewis, said:

“It was great to be back delivering again – especially in the Southampton sunshine with most of the course outdoors in this new normal. We are pioneering a new way to deliver during these difficult times and the learners were great, fully committed, and we got everyone through.”

Learners have praised our tutor workforce for the professionalism with which they have approached these courses, and every learner from the past week of courses has said they would recommend British Cycling Education to a friend or colleague.

British Cycling Head of Education, Simon Hibbert, said:

“It’s excellent to finally see the return of our course delivery and I’m delighted about the positive response from both tutors and learners. The British Cycling Education team has worked hard in challenging circumstances to ensure tutors, learners and venues are aware of the necessary protocols to keep all participants safe, and by doing that we’ve been able to support more learners to obtain their qualifications.”

Dates are now confirmed for October and November across the full range of British Cycling Education courses. Find a course near you here.
