About our league
Welcome to the South West Cyclocross League! We provide a competitive but fun environment for all ages and abilities with events across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset.
Registration for the league will be via the British Cycling portal. There is no need to email the league prior to joining.
SWCX is open to all cyclists and cycling clubs. Non-league members are welcome to compete but only those who join the league will be allocated League points. Fees enable the league to purchase key race infrastructure. By joining the league you will be gridded and receive your own set of race numbers (meaning you can put those numbers on in the warm the night before!)
In order to qualify for overall league standings you will need to ride at least 6 out of 8 rounds and we will take into account points from your best 8 rounds (meaning you can have a couple of bad rounds!). If you volunteer for a round you are able to get average points for that round (please get the race organiser to let the League know you have volunteered).
Age categories for the 2023/24 season:
Under 8 born in 2016 or later
Under 10 born in 2014 or 2015
Under 12 born in 2012 or 2013
Youth – Under 14 – born 2010 or 2011
Youth – Under 16 – born 2008 or 2009
Junior born 2006 or 2007
Senior (18 - 39) born 1984 - 2005
Vet 40 born 1974 to 1983
Vet 50 born 1964 to 1973
Vet 60+ born 1934 - 1963
Race Day Schedule:
10:00 - U8s Race (15 mins)
10:30 - U10s and U12s Race (20 mins)
11:15 - Youth - U14 and U16 Race (30 mins)
12:45 – MV50, MV60, Women (Seniors & Vets) & Juniors (Male & Female) (40 minutes)
13:45 – Senior Men, MV40 (1 hour)
