About our club
Aberdeen Wheelers Cycling Club was started in 1929 and is one of Scotland's longest established independent cycling clubs. It is run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, catering for most cycling disciplines.
Whilst many of our members race (we have members who regularly compete in time trials, road races, mountain bike events, cyclo cross, triathlons and sportives), we have just as many who merely enjoy the social side of being in a club.
We have a weekly club run on a Sunday morning. This generally consists of two groups (one slightly faster than the other) usually leaving from Springfield Road in Aberdeen and then picking up anyone living to the south of the city at the Netherley junction on the South Deeside Road.
During the spring and summer months we run a weekly time trial league held on Tuesday evenings, starting just outside Drumoak. The favoured course is the Drumoak 10 however there are variations throughout the season including hill climbs and some more sporting routes around the Slug Road.
We have our annual prize giving event in November and also an annual club trip to Mallorca towards the end of March.
The best ways to get in touch are either via our Facebook page, or via email to AWCCsec@gmail.com
