About our club
Thame Cycling Club was established in 2014 as a friendly, socially oriented and open to anyone. We now have close to 100 members. We run regular rides on Wednesdays, Saturdays and some Sundays. We normally run a number of different rides at a variety of paces (steady, brisk & fast) to provide an enjoyable ride for everyone. We stop for coffee and cake and over the years we have built up a list of the best coffee shops in the area to visit.
We have regular monthly social evenings, this is an opportunity to discuss all things cycling over a beer or glass of wine. We often have discussions on popular topics such as bike maintenance, planning for upcoming trips and events, guest speakers and reports on recent trips and events. We trips each year, recent trips include Albania Tour, Paris Roubaix, Mount Ventoux and the heart of the Alps. In 2025 we plan trips to Wales ,Girona and northern France. We offer introductory rides for new members -see our website for more details -and up to 3 free club rides as a taster before we ask you to pay your subscription. We can give advice if you are new to cycling or have reservations about riding in a group. We are a friendly bunch and would love to help share our passion for cycling with you.
Thame Cycling Club is affiliated to British Cycling and is run by local cycling enthusiasts it has a committee who are Chairman (Anthony Wills ), Treasurer (Anthony Ussher), Club Secretary (Phil Glanville ) Rides Coordinator ( Simon Richards ) Welfare advisor (Morag Boyden)
