About our club
The Kingston Phoenix Road Club is a Club that welcomes riders of all abilities and cycling backgrounds, and promotes and celebrates participation in all cycling activities. The Club has its origins in cycle racing and encourages all members to consider taking part in friendly, competitive racing.
Based in Epsom, Surrey, the club has over 120 members who live in Epsom, Ewell, Worcester Park, Sutton, Surbiton, New Malden, Cheam, Chessington, and Kingston.
We were formed in 1936 to allow members of the local cycle touring section of the CTT to race with their friends rather than leave to join one of the many existing cycle racing clubs. Our main cycling sport is Time Trialling and we have a long and proud history in this sport.
Our main area of racing is Time Trialling. But we may also take part in Road Racing and any other types of cycle racing that inspire members, with a particularly active mountain bike section. Overall our emphasis is on enjoying the sport rather than winning.
But the club isn't only about racing these days, we are a sociable bunch and have Saturday rides that meets at Horton Country Park, Epsom, for a sociable morning ride - this generally splits into three groups: fast, slow and off-road. There is also a Sunday ride that aims to do around 50 miles and be home by late lunchtime. Trail rides are now becoming popular on Tuesdays and Fridays.
We promote a number of racing events and also have an annual BBQ and monthly catch ups in an Epsom pub..
New members are always welcome so please review our website and join us for a ride or two without obligation to become a member.
