About our club

Hawick Cycling Club has an active racing section, with members representing the club at open events. They travel to events in North of England and throughout southern and central Scotland including events held in our Border Area. The club also promotes confined events most weeks from April to September, these are mainly Time Trials over set distances and courses.
In addition to the racing side of the clubs activities there is also a very active non/competitive Leisure Section. The club promotes the annual Ken Laidlaw Sportive in August. Leisure runs take place every Sunday throughout the year, leaving club rooms at 09.00am during the summer and at 9.30am during the winter. These runs take in many of the local roads and some off-road tracks generally within a 30-50 mile radius of Hawick. Distance varies from 35 miles in the winter to un to 100 miles in the summer. The club helps organise the Border Trophy, a midweek time trial league held across the region and hosted by Hawick, Kelso, Berwick and Galashiels cycling clubs. It will also start to organise Audax events from 2019 onwards. There is an active Breeze section run by three women members attracting up to 30 women new to organised cycling. The off road section meets weekly on Sundays leaving Hawick from the Wilton Lodge Park gates at 8.30am and making good use of the many off road trails in the locality.

Indoor training can take place in the club rooms all year round. The clubroom facilities are well used during the winter months.
