About our club
We are a long established (over 100 years!) and friendly club based out of West Wickham. We are active in most branches of the sport, from 30 mile clubs runs at a steady pace, to road racing and time trials. We hold regular events including a track day at Herne Hill Velodrome, an annual Brighton and back ride, week-ends away, a 2 Up time trial and a hill-climb event. We are primarily a road cycling club.
We have a club ride every Saturday which leaves at 10.00 from Corkscrew roundabout in West Wickham and covers about 30 miles at medium pace (12-13mph) into the lanes of Kent or Surrey with a cafe stop.
We have a club ride every Sunday which leaves at 9.30 from Cafe Nero in West Wickham and covers about 50 miles at a faster pace (15-16mph).
You are welcome to join either ride to see if it would suit you.
We originally started as an athletics club based at Portland Road in South Norwood - hence the name - it has nothing to do with being old and we welcome new members of all ages!
