About our club
The Eagle Road Club is a friendly, active club for road cyclists of all ages and all abilities who are interested in racing. We were founded in 1923 by CTC members with the objective of promoting time trials, and based originally in London by the Eagle Public House, Wanstead. We now cover most aspects of competitive cycling with a focus on road and circuit racing, track plus of course time trials.
We no longer have our clubhouse in Ugley North Essex, but still run most of our weekend events in that area, near the 32nd milestone famous for Essex based cycle racing.
We organise two road races a year, one under BC auspices and the other LVRC.
We have a programme of events for members throughout the season, including 'Evening Ten' mile time trials around Abridge and Coopersale in Essex during the summer evenings. If you are just taking up the sport, these events are a perfect introduction to the racing side of cycling.
Our website will take you to pages with the contact details for committee members, club records, club time trialling standard times and a whole manner of other things of interest to cyclists.
