British Cycling President Brian Cookson was present at the event to award Martin Bridgwood - the organiser - the Brian Cossavella Memorial Trophy for Organiser of the year. The award was to be made at the British Cycling volunteer awards in February but at the time Martin was on honeymoon after the ceremony the previous week where Cossavella was to be his best man. The annual award was the suggestion of the board of British Cycling after the promoters death last March.
