Volunteer Week 2018
Today is our final day of volunteer week and it’s been great to see so many people and clubs sharing their volunteering stories!
We shared some volunteer stories from a variety of roles that YOU can get involved with in cycling!
Fraser Johnstone – Falkirk Junior Bike Club Volunteer Coach and Club Secretary
Lusia Steele – Volunteer Coach
Morven Brown – Event Organiser and Coach
Several of our clubs also got involved! See Edinburgh Road Club’s Twitter feed to see them showcase their volunteers and Falkirk Junior Bike Club on Twitter or Facebook to see their series of videos showcasing their young volunteers!
Last, and by no means least for our #VolunteersWeek celebrations we have Sandra Murdoch. Our previous President she also helped out at EVERY SINGLE RACE we put on last year. #DameMurdoch pic.twitter.com/p0nGTDp6gm

It's #VolunteersWeek - to kick things off we want to recognise Morag MacDonald. Morag has been a volunteer at our sessions for the last 2 years and in a few weeks time will embark upon her UKCC Level 1 Cycle Coaching qualification!

There is still time to celebrate your volunteers! Just share their story on social media and #volunteersweek @scottishcycling
Inspired? Ready to get involved as a volunteer? There are many different roles you can help in: coaching, marshalling, officiating, timekeeping, general event volunteers, board members, club committee to name a few.
The benefits of volunteering are wide ranging! You get to make a difference at a club, event or cycling community and in exchange you meet new people, learn new skills, often take on a challenge and importantly: have fun!
So if you’d like to get involved get in touch with your local club or complete this form to find out what role might suit you!
