British Cycling’s M-Check is a quick, intuitive and easy to remember routine for ensuring that your bike is in good working order and is safe before every ride. Moving onto the front derailleur, this video will show you how to check the bottom bracket, cranks and pedals.

If you identify a problem that you are unable to repair yourself, your bike should be taken to the local bike shop to be fixed.
