Ipswich BMX Club recently staged the sixth and final round of its British Cycling Go-Ride Racing, Summer Series.

Riders were faced with dry dusty conditions, thanks to the recent spate of hot weather. Racing consisted of three classes of four motos (heats). Riders were ranked based on their finishing positions in each of the four motos.

There were enough riders in the formula 3 class to have an A and B final. Jake and Luke Taylor both made it into the A final but couldn’t quite catch race winner Abi Pike, and had to settle for second and third places respectively.

Formula 2 saw Lee Matthews win three of his four races to take victory. Liam Rendell wasn’t too far behind in second and was in turn followed by Jake Sparrow in third who managed to stay upright in the dusty turns.

The final class of the evening was formula 1. Alex Pike made up for being disqualified in his first race by winning the following three to take the class win. He was closely followed by Matt Hillyard who was competing in his second round of the series, and Jake Newman who was happy to settle for third.

The presentation for the series will take place on the Tuesday 30th July at 6.45pm at the clubs Landseer Park track.
