Talented young BMX riders Dan McBride and Curtis Manaton, currently on the Olympic Academy Programme, will be spending some time at British Cycling sponsors Fiat Group Automobile’s Manchester dealership and blogging on their experiences.

Our second day working at the Bauer Millet workshop was a lot more hands on than last week.

Curtis and I were working on separate cars with different technicians. I was working on an Escalade, with Curtis on a Chevy Camaro.

The Escalade was a new model and had to be altered to meet British regulations. I worked on the wiring and lights which was interesting as it was something that I haven’t had the opportunity to do before.

The technicians we work with are great teachers and we are learning new skills all the time. They make everything easy and explain things to us well.

Each day is different and presents a new challenge which keeps things interesting as you never know what you are going to be doing that day.

I’m looking forward to seeing what we get to work on next week and once again a big thanks to British Cycling and Bauer Millet for this opportunity.
