British Cycling has named 10 Great Britain riders who will travel to the Indoor BMX Saint-Etienne Loire from 8-9 December.

London Olympians Shanaze Reade and Liam Phillips, both part of British Cycling’s Olympic Podium Programme, will make the journey to France along with a selection of Academy and Olympic Development Programme athletes.

Abbie Taylor, who finished a career best third at the Abbotsford UCI BMX Supercross in September, is one of five Academy riders named alongside Curtis Manaton, Kyle Evans, Grant Hill and Dan McBride.

Boys 16 world champion Quillan Isidore is included along with fellow Olympic Development Programme riders Ryan Stack and Dan Pullen.

“The vibe is really good within the group, they’ve been training hard of late, and now it’s time to go race,” said British Cycling Olympic BMX Coach Grant White.

“We’ve got all of the Academy riders travelling except for Tre Whyte, he is out injured at the moment. He’s had surgery on his shoulder.

“The Academy guys have done some really good stuff since the Olympics. They’ve sharpened up and made a few changes. If that continues as we plan, we’ve got the first round of the UCI BMX Supercross here next year in April which is massive and it is our plan to have all our riders really performing there.

“They are comfortable in the environment; they ride here all the time. We know what their level is and they are bumping themselves up all the time.”
