British Cycling Olympic Performance Programme members who had enjoyed Olympic and Paralympic success, were among athletes greeted by hundreds of fans in central Manchester, as part of a homecoming celebration hosted by Manchester City Council.

On Friday October 26, London 2012 medallists including Sir Chris Hoy, Laura Trott, Dani King, Joanna Rowsell, Sarah Storey, Steven Burke, Neil Fachie, Jody Cundy and Barney Storey walked the red carpet and spoke on stage of the positive influence Manchester’s National Cycling Centre and English Institute of Sport had on their performance.

The National Cycling Centre is the headquarters for British Cycling and the Great Britain Cycling Team, housing an Olympic standard velodrome and BMX supercross track, both of which have provided British athletes a world-class training facility and the chance to experience international competition at home.
