British Cycling is pleased to announce that Scott Pollock will return to British Cycling later this year to take up the role of Women’s Podium Sprint Coach for the Great Britain Cycling Team.

Pollock returns with a wealth of experience from working with the team previously in 2021, where he led the men’s podium sprint team to success at the Tokyo Olympic Games, and most recently working with Swimming Australia through the Queensland Academy of Sport.

Pollock will begin his role in October and get to work plotting out the team’s final preparations for the Olympic Games in Paris. He will join the squad with spirits high off the back of a successful UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow, where Emma Finucane was crowned Britain’s first women’s sprint world champion for a decade.

He replaces Kaarle McCulloch in the role, who announced that she would be stepping down from her position in June to return to her native Australia.

On his return to the Great Britain Cycling Team, Scott said:

"It's incredibly exciting for me to be returning to British Cycling in the role of Women’s Podium Sprint Coach. I have always believed British Cycling is a world leading high performance organisation and I look forward to building on its legacy of success by supporting the elite female sprinters as we move toward Paris and beyond."

Performance Director of the Great Britain Cycling Team, Stephen Park CBE, said:

“We’re excited to bring Scott back into the team with new experience gained from his time away working with Swimming Australia. Scott was an asset to the team in the run up to the last Olympics and brings a huge amount of expertise along with a commitment to build on the momentum that Kaarle has created within the squad during her time with us.

“I’m confident that his skillset and experience will be hugely beneficial to our riders as we ramp up our preparations for Paris.”
