Eight riders from the Great Britain Cycling Team’s senior and development BMX squads will be in action in the first round of the 2018 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France, taking place on 31 March - 1 April.

Fresh from finishing on the podium in both rounds one and two of the UEC BMX European Cup over the weekend, Kyle Evans will be looking to carry this form on to the world cup opener this weekend. Brothers Tre and Kye Whyte will also be taking to the start line for the elite men’s race alongside team mate Quillan Isidore. Paddy Sharrock, who missed the first two European Cup rounds due to injury, is back to race fitness and ready to compete in his first major event this season.

From the development squad, Ross Cullen, winner of round two of the European Cup, will compete along with Tian Isidore, while Elissa Bradford will represent Great Britain in thewomen’s category.

Lead coach Pierre-Henri Sauze said: “We’ve had a good block of training in the build up to this competition phase and I’m pleased with how the season has started for the squad.

“Over the weekend we saw Kyle and Ross take victories at the European Cup and prior to that, Kyle, Tre and Quillan finished on the podium at races in Caen against a strong field.

“It will be my first world cup with the Great Britain Cycling Team since my appointment in November. I have been impressed with how the team operates at major competitions so far, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the riders get on in the world cup.”
