British Cycling has named the two riders who will compete in the final rounds of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup series in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, from 15 - 16 September.

National champion Kyle Evans, who is currently sitting in a career-best 11th place on the UCI World Rankings, will be looking to cement his most successful BMX season so far with good results over the two days of racing in Argentina. Tre Whyte will also be representing the Great Britain Cycling Team in the final rounds of the series, having spent the last month training and racing in the USA.

BMX coach Grant White said: “Both Kyle and Tre head to Argentina in good form having undergone an intensive block of training and racing and I’ll be looking for them to both finish off their season’s with strong results in Argentina.

“Kyle has enjoyed the most successful season of his career so far, reaching the semi-finals in two rounds of the world cup series plus the world championships where he finished in 13th place. Since the world championships, Kyle worked hard during a block of training at the HSBC UK National Cycling Centre in Manchester before beginning this period of racing, during which he won the national championships and finished in third place at the USA BMX City Derby Nationals in Louisville against some world-class competition. Kyle will be aiming to take the final 2017 World Cup step and finish this season with a top eight result in Argentina.

“Tre has been training at the Chula Vista supercross track in California since the world championships and has benefitted from the experience of racing both supercross and regular BMX over the past few weeks. Tre is motivated to finish his season off strongly as he did in 2016 and he’ll be racing hard to make the finals along with Kyle in at least one of the races over the weekend.”
