British Cycling has today confirmed the team who will represent Great Britain for the final round of the UCI Track World Cup in Cali, Colombia, taking place 16-18 January 2015.

The Great Britain team won four gold medals and one bronze medal at the recent edition of the UCI Track World Cup series in London.

The 16-rider squad is made up predominantly of British Cycling’s Olympic Academy Programme riders and also includes guest riders Jonny Biggin, who represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and Welsh rider Ellie Coster have also been called up for selection. Olympic Podium Programme rider Katy Marchant will also make her world cup debut having transferred from athletics to cycling in 2013.

Technical director Shane Sutton OBE said: “I am pleased with how the team has performed so far in this World Cup cycle and we’re well on track as to where we want to be in terms of qualifying places for the Olympics.

“This has eased the pressure on us slightly and has enabled us to select a younger team for the final round, giving the Academy an excellent opportunity to step up and race at this level.”
