Round three of the Manchester League Grand Prix series was staged at Bury on Wednesday evening. Once again there was a good turnout of riders, resulting in some lively racing on a well prepared track.
Astley & Tyldesley riders dominated the U-10 match, with Max Evans winning all his four races and Tom Whitwam and Matt Snell both unbeaten until they raced each other in their last race.
Matt pulled off a perfect drop from grid 4 to pass Tom on the inside of the exit of the first bend to pull away and take the win and his first ever maximum score, with Tom second in the race.
Bury riders dominated the U-13 match, with Adam Watson winning all his four races and James Elston and Adam Turnbull only dropping points to each other.
Stockport riders dominated the U-16 and U-19 matches, with Jake Read winning all his four races at U-16 level and Joe Pickford scoring heavily. Jack Lush won all his four races at U-19 level, beating twin brother Mat each time out.
This means that at the halfway stage of the series, A & T are top of the table, one point ahead of Stockport, with Bury third.
Stockport won the Division 1 (senior) match from Bury, with A & T third. Bury's Chris Parish lost only to Stockport's Terry Norman in heat 3, whilst Stockport's Jack Lush lost only to Parish in heat 6.
This means that at the halfway stage of the series, Stockport are top of the table, one point ahead of Bury, with A & T third.
