Hull ready for Speedway showdown

British Under 13 Club Championship
Event: 9th July 2011
Event Details

The Hull Cycle Speedway Club stage their biggest meeting of the season when they promote The British Under 13 Club Championship sponsored by The Co-operative Funeralcare at The Hessle Raceway, Livingstone Road, Hessle.

Nine teams will travel from throughout the country to contest two semi-finals at 12noon and 2pm with the top two sides in each semi progressing to the final at 4pm.

The first semi-final brings together the top two sides from last year in Ipswich and Poole, and while the nature of this competition demands a changing side it is likely that they will both be main contenders this year.

East Newport have a number of riders who have figured in the British Youth and Junior League and have a real chance of making the final.

Astley & Tyldesley will be led by the British Champion at this age group Adam Philips, and also have the fast improving Reece Pollitt to boost their chances. The home side will look to track advantage and team spirit to mix it with their opponents on Saturday.

In the second semi-final Bretford are well renowned for producing talented youngsters and Sheffield will have a big squad to choose from. Horspath have assembled a strong looking team including George Horsley who took the under 10's title at Hessle last year in fine style. Leicester made the final a year ago and are sure to be thereabouts at the end of the day.

Tapes are up at 12noon and spectators are welcome, free of charge, to what promises to be a great afternoon's racing.
