About our club
Lee Velo draws cyclists from Lewisham, Greenwich and Bromley boroughs (Hither Green, Lee, Eltham, Lewisham, Bromley).
Born originally from a group of competitive local cyclists, the group extended to families, friends, colleagues and is welcoming of new riders. We strongly disassociate ourselves from fossil fuel partnerships.
We're very informal. It's about enjoyment, whatever that means to you. For some that means just being on a bike with friends, for others it means racing in a team. It's all good! We don't charge a membership fee, if you're comfortable riding in a group, get in touch and join in.
Ad-hoc training rides run most weekends from south east London looping out to the North Kent Downs.
We run our own gonzo events that are always free. We organise travel to sportives and events across iconic UK and mainland Europe (such as Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix, Dragon Ride, L'Etape du Tour, etc).
Some club riders compete in local closed circuit races at London circuits (Hillingdon, Cyclopark, Olympic Park, Crystal Palace, Hog Hill).
