About our club
Formed in 2013 by 10 friends, Salt & Sham Cycling Club has grown organically, thanks to the founding members ethos of Collective Cycling.
We welcome riders of all abilities and have over 340 active members, and even a cycling club HQ based at Keynsham Rugby Club.
At the heart of our club is the official Salt & Sham club ride, The Lap Of The Lakes, which takes place every Saturday at 7am, starting from Ashton Way, Keynsham, and sees us follow a 45km loop around the beautiful Chew Valley countryside, ending up at Keynsham Rugby Club for coffee and cake. Everyone is welcome and nobody gets left behind, so come and join us.
Through our busy Facebook group our members organise weekend and weekday rides, and in the summer months we ride the famous hills of Bath on a Tuesday evening, and a social ride on Thursday evenings.
Our club members are involved in a wide range of cycling disciplines, including Road Racing, CX, TT, MTB and Sportives. We run our own events including a TT series, Hill Climb and the now legendary ‘Run What Ya Brung’. We reach out to the local community to offer support with events and safety initiatives with local schools.
