Welsh Cycling's Coach Education Programme is now more extensive than ever before. Candidates can feel confident that they will be learning in the best available facilities and from qualified British Cycling tutors.

On application, you will be required to provide evidence of a minimum 'Appointed Persons' first aid certificate, the cost for which may need to be included in any funding application. Costs for each course are listed below. You will also need to become a British Cycling member.


Level 1 Award in Coaching Cycling (L1ACC)

8 & 15 March 2015    Level 1 Award in Coaching Cycling     Caerleon, Newport NP18 3QT     

To confirm your place, download the application form and return with payment to Alistair Waldron by Monday 2 February 2015.


Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Cycling (L2CCC)

These courses are run approximately once a year.To confirm your place, download the application form and return with payment to Alistair Waldron 14 days before the first day of each course.

Commissaire Training Courses

Cycling always needs new officials! We rely on a workforce of officials who ensure all events in the 6 British Cycling disciplines are conducted in a fair manner. With thousands of cycling events every year there is something for everyone. The events range from local grass roots events such as Go-Ride Racing right up to Commissairing at the Olympics!

UK Mountain Bike Leadership Scheme

Welsh Cycling along with British and Scottish Cycling are moving towards strengthening mountain bike leadership in the UK, the delivery of the Mountain Bike Leadership Awards will gradually switch over to the new UK Mountain Bike Leadership Scheme between now and December 2015. Breeze Champion Training

This is a one day ride leadership training for women who wish to offer led rides to groups of women. Currently being offered for women who will deliver led rides within Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Monmouthshire and is free of charge. If interested complete an expression of interest form and return to breeze@welshcycling.co.uk


Cycling For Schools

Cycling for schools is our entry level coach education course for the wider schools workforce providing all you need to know to deliver entry-level cycling and coachching skills to the pupils in your playground.

In addition to teachers, Cycling for Schools is open to all adults (aged 18 and over), who work or volunteer within the schools sector.

Qualified teachers can attend a one-day interactive workshop, which provides them with the essential information and skills to deliver engaging cycling activities within the school environment.

Adults without a teaching qualification can complete coaching theory home study to gain essential underpinning knowledge before attending the same one-day interactive workshop as teachers.
