We can now confirm that the course will take place at Nant BH Outdoor Activity Centre (), near Betws Y Coed. Nant BH is a fantastic venue with it's own purpose built classroom as well as a fantastic skills course in the grounds. It is also situated in the middle of the Marin Trail so there is plenty of choice of terrain for the practical element of the course.

The course will run from 9am until 5:30pm on 22nd and 23rd January. There are still a few places available on the course but anybody interested will have to be quick to secure a place before they are offered to coaches from outside of Wales. Please e-mail Bryan Pilot (bryan.pilot@welshcycling.co.uk) or Scott Bugden (scott.bugden@welshcycling.co.uk).

Wanted: MTB Coaches Wanted

Welsh Cycling are pleased to announce dates for a Level 2 MTB Discipline Specific Coaching Course. The course has been designed by British Cycling Coach Education with input from two legends of the UK MTB scene Nick Craig and Will Longden. It is designed to give coaches the knowledge they need to take riders from novice MTB riders to their first race (and potentially beyond).

The course will be held on 22nd and 23rd January 2011 in North Wales and coaches working with Welsh clubs will be given priority. This will be only the third public delivery of this course which has so far received very positive reviews. Scott Bugden, Welsh Cycling Performance Development Coach said "The Level 2 MTB course is without doubt the best Coach Education course I have been on. As a result of attending the pilot, I immediately started working with Bryan Pilot (Welsh Cycling Coach Education Coordinator) to provide this opportunity for Welsh Coaches. The first two public courses have been very popular, filling up as soon as the dates were released so this is a way to make sure that Welsh coaches can attend a course in Wales. We have also worked to secure some funding to cover the cost of the course for 15 Welsh Coaches, in return for running a series of coaching sessions. Coaches will have to pay half of the course cost initially but this will be refunded after completion of 12 sessions."

In order to attend the course, you must have fully completed either a Level 2 Generic Award or a Club Coach Award.
