British Cycling is pleased to announce today the opening of two new funding schemes as part of the Places to Ride programmes, supporting clubs and facilities to instal or upgrade their artificial lighting or improve their BMX track.

The schemes have been designed with a key focus on enhancing rider experience and safety, making facilities more financially viable and helping them to become more environmentally sustainable.

In keeping with the original Places to Ride programme, which has successfully invested £15 million in facilities and clubs as part of the 2019 UCI Road World Championships legacy, the funding will be awarded to upgrade facilities which benefit community club coaching and competition opportunities.

The launch of both schemes coincides with the publication of new design guidance for both artificial lighting and BMX tracks. For further details and to obtain a copy of the prospectus for each scheme, click here.
