Schoolchildren from Scarborough and the Yorkshire Coast are invited to compete in five junior mountain bike races, which Richardsons Cycle Club is organising in the local area in 2012.
It's the Olympics in London this year, and these races are a perfect opportunity for children to enjoy bike racing themselves.
The races are run as part of British Cycling's Go-Ride Racing programme. Each event offers fun, friendly competition in safe, traffic-free venues. They will be held on grass fields, so riders will need a mountain bike in good working order. Riders must wear a suitable bike helmet, and gloves are recommended.
