In the first of our features profiling British Cycling’s and Team Sky’s Nutritional Supplier CNP, we begin by looking at three off the bike products from their Endurance Range. With input from Great Britain Cycling Team and Team Sky nutritionist Nigel Mitchell, we’ll let you know how, why and when to use these products.

CNP Greens

What

CNP Greens is a premium quality, nutrient dense super greens powder. Featuring superfoods such as Spirulina, Chlorella, Wheat Grass and Barley Grass.

When

It is a potent shake to use any time of the day.

Nigel says

“Like all of the CNP range we’ve been involved in developing, the Greens came from the needs of the athletes. They’re a simple and convenient way to increase fruit and vegetable intake to optimal levels, which can be difficult in a race situation, under heavy training load or if you're leading a busy time pressed life. They’re packed with antioxidants and alkalise the gut, which is key to promoting good gut health. A healthy gut means improved digestion and absorption of essential nutrients and a reduced risk of gastric distress when riding.”

CNP Omega +

What

CNP Omega + is a proprietary blend of the finest quality Nordic fish and krill oils, supported by powerful astaxanthin and vitamin D. Countless studies have demonstrated the overwhelming benefits of supplemental marine omega 3s to cardiovascular health, insulin sensitivity, pulmonary function and reduced systemic inflammation and stress. Krill oil has become universally recognised for the advantages of its high phospholipid content to arterial and neuronal health and recovery.

When

Take one capsule twice a day after food.

Nigel says

“I’m a massive fan of fish oils, especially for their anti-inflammatory and recovery enhancing benefits. If you train regularly, you should be taking them. This blend of Nordic fish and krill oils delivers a really powerful antioxidant punch and has very high levels of the beneficial omega 3 oils. Cheaper cod liver oil products simply don’t compare.”

CNP Health and Immune

What

CNP Health & Immune is a potent blend of Vitamins D, E, C, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, B5 with added Zinc, Green Tea and Pine Bark Extract.

When

Take 4 tablets per day, two in the morning and two in the afternoon.

Nigel says

“We developed this product to provide nutritional support for the riders when training and racing hard. It covers a lot of nutritional bases, promoting health and well-being and, alongside of the essential vitamins and minerals, the probiotics it also contains are brilliant for promoting gut health. It’s ideal for periods of hard training and travel. Pack some for your next training camp.”
