David stone took gold beating rival Hans-Peter Durst by 4.85 seconds over a tough and technical time trial course with a final 1.1km climb of over a seven per cent average gradient. Whilst in the women’s tandem event, Great Britain pairing Lora Turham and Fiona Duncan took a close second, 8 seconds behind current Canadian world champion Robbi Weldon, piloted by Emile Roy.

Mark Colbourne also took silver in the C1 classfication behind Paralympic champion Micheal Teuber of Germany. Crystal Lane rounded off the podium performances for Great Britain in the time trial with a bronze in the C5 women.

In other results, Rachel Morris finished fourth in the H3 women, Brian Alldis finished just 10 seconds off the podium in the H3 men placing sixth. Simon Price finished seventh in the C2 men and Shaun Mckeown and Darren Kenny finished eighth and ninth respectively in the C3 men.

Performance Manager Gareth Sheppard said "There were some strong performances in there today from the team. Hopefully we can build on these in both road races over the next couple of days and next weekend in the World Cup in Spain"
