The Using Rollers in Your Coaching workshop has been developed by British Cycling, in conjunction with expert riders and coaches.
About the course
The online module is recommended for all coaches (from Level 1 to 3), in order to support delivery of this popular method of static training. Riders across all six disciplines of cycling can make significant gains from adding roller training to their plans.
Rollers have long been used alongside traditional training methods as a way of improving leg speed, pedalling efficiency and fitness. As a highly adaptable piece of equipment, they can be used independently in the home, as a warm up tool prior to a race or on a dedicated club night (mostly during the winter months).
The course contains in-depth videos to demonstrate good practice, while also highlighting coaching points and suggested progressions. It should take around 45-60 minutes to complete, but can be approached either in small chunks or all at once.
How do I enrol?
The course runs on a monthly cycle for administration purposes, with the date below indicating when the next course begins. Once registered, you will be given on-demand access to the resources on the day the course starts.
Registration is £9.99 and on completion of the award, you will be able to download a certificate of attendance. If you would like this to appear on your record, please send us a copy of your certificate and we will update your account as appropriate provided you are still eligible to coach (see section two of the Guidelines for Coaching Cycling).
