UCI BMX World Challenge - All classes 14 and under - Full results

Ross Cullen was the pick of Great Britain’s riders on day one of the UCI BMX World Championships as the competition began with the UCI BMX World Challenge.

Cullen triumphed in the Boys 10 category, overcoming Maxime Bondu of France and Yuichi Masuda of Japan who finished second and third respectively in the eight person finals. Cullen’s achievement was part of a hectic schedule which saw all the 14 and under classes compete at the specially constructed track at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.

Other notable results for Great Britain included Bethany Shriever, who finished second in the Girls 13 category behind Japan’s Sae Hatakeyama, Emma Jeffers claiming third in the Girls 8 whilst Ethan Crake and Luke Rossiter rode to second and third respectively in the Boys 9.

In the evening, the elite categories took to the course for practice ahead of tomorrow’s time trial qualification rounds.
