Series Overview

Rounds 1&2 - April 30-May 1 - Peterborough

Rounds 3&4 - May 21-22 - Dagenham

Rounds 5&6 - July 2-3 - Braintree

Rounds 7&8 - July 16-17 - Redditch

Rounds 9&10 - August 13-14 - Gosport, Hampshire

Race Regulations

Age Categories:

Male 20"
6 & Under, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17-24, 25-29, Master (30+), Veteran (40+), Junior, Elite

Female 20":
6 & Under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, Championship

Cruiser:
9-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45+, 17-29 female, 30+ female

Number Plates:

National Ranking Ranking gained in 2010 if in a single age band. If moving up into a new multi- year age group, then you may need an "X" after your ranking number.

Membership Number A rider's membership number is 6 digits long. The last 3 digits can be used

British Champion: 01 (only in the category that the title was gained)

European Champion E1-E8 (only in the category that the title was gained)

World Champion W1-W8 (only in the category that the title was gained)

UCI Career number only available to riders who have applied to UCI via BC

Using a number in the category gained includes for example, a 20" rider aged 15 winning the British title using the 01 plate in the following year as a 16 year old.

The colour of the number plates used in 2011 will be as per UCI/UEC:
Male 20" Yellow with black numbers
Junior Men: Black with white numbers
Championship female: Black with white numbers
Elite Men: White with black numbers
Female 20" Blue with white numbers
All Cruiser Red with white numbers

British BMX Series standings from 2010

Event Awards:

The top 3 riders in all 20" categories for ages 12 and under will receive a trophy or souvenir plate at each round awarded via a podium presentation. The top 8 Elite Men and Championship Women and top 3 Junior Men will receive cash prizes at all rounds. Prize money will be £1,000 per round for Elite Men, £350 for Championship Women and £150 for Junior Men.

BMX Racing Online:

Corinne Walder will be filming all the National Series events in 2011, as well as the Brits and several UCI Supercross events. Footage will be hosted on several websites including www.britishcycling.org.uk

Gav Foster will be bringing www.bikevideos.org.uk back to life and presenting the finals for all age categories.

Pre Registration:

Although the system is now up and running, further developments are being made to make it ready for BMX.

Entry Fees:

Categories 16 and under £15.00
Categories 17 and over £20.00
Elite Men £25.00
2nd bike entry fee £10.00
Family discount £5.00 off per additional entry

Team and Club Areas:

The cost for setting up a team or club area will be £5.00 per 3mx3m area. This is payable direct to the host club. Teams should book in advance with the host club to ensure the correct space is reserved. Only BC affiliated teams and clubs can reserve space. Host clubs reserve the right to ask each club to pre-book gazebo space.

Event Support:

Once again, British Cycling has joined forces with EA Limited and Monster Energy to provide an increased level of event support for 2011.

Friday Schedule:
Each host club will put on a Friday afternoon/evening practice session for at least 2 hours between the hours of 5pm and 8pm, although the option to start earlier or finish later is up to the club. The host club have the option of charging a fee of up to £3.00, as a professional medical crew has to be present. The Club will control the pens to ensure riders of similar age are on the gate together.

Registration will be open during the Friday practice session.

Registration: 08.30am-10:00am

Each Group has approximately 10 minutes open warm up before the gate is used
Group 1 0800 to 0840
Group 2 0840 to 0920
Group 3 0920 to 1005
Group 4 1005 to 1050

Elite Time Trial 1130 to 1200 (riders will be allocated a start time)

Run Offs will be run immediately after the end of the 3rd round of Moto's

Note, If there are no quarter finals the semi finals will start as soon as possible
