Victories for Lewis, Finlay and Mills Wakley in the BMX Freestyle National Series in Deeside

The third round of the BMX Freestyle National Series saw Jay Lewis, Ash Finlay and Harry Mills Wakley top the elite podiums in Deeside.

The day kicked off with the youth categories, with series regulars Joey Doland winning the youth 8-11 category, while Alfie Crocker took the youth 12-14 victory. Newcomer Ffion Pickstock gave Aubree Henson a great battle in the female 8-14 class, but Henson dominated to take home the win.

Marc Hardman beat George Hall by one point in the amateur street category, taking the win on 93.33 points, while Petr Koman secured third on 80 points. Devon Low was able to secure his second amateur park win of the series, having improved round on round, finishing on 106.67 points. Aaron Wilson claimed second on 96.33 points – just ahead of third placed Miller Temple on 96 points.

Elite Park

In the absence of Charlotte Worthington, Sasha Pardoe had her sights set firmly on the top step of the podium, having finished second in the first two rounds of the series. However Jay Lewis had other ideasn and was unstoppable on the day, taking home 88 points to take the win, while Pardoe took second place on 84.67 points. Third place went to Sam Turner on 80 points.

In the men’s equivalent, the absence of Great Britain Cycling Team regulars meant it was another fresh faced podium, with Ash Finlay claiming the victory on 95.33 points, while Jack Hobson came second, one point ahead of Isaac Lesser in third - who was competing in his first event of the series.

Elite Street

Mills Wakley was able to reassert his dominance in the elite street class, having taken the win in the opening round, and took the win despite some tough competition in qualification. Wakley took home 99.67 points, while Stu Chrisholm came in second on 96.67 points, and Tariq Haouche completed the podium on 88.67 points.
