Kye Whyte returned to winning ways at Cyclopark, Kent last weekend, taking victory at rounds three and four of the 2022 BMX National Series.

Round 3

Kye Whyte made a welcome return to racing after taking part in the Dancing On Ice series, whilst former European Champion Kyle Evans also made his return to the BMX track - looking in great form all weekend and adding extra excitement to the Men's Superclass.

Cyclopark renamed the BMX track after Beth Shriever as a tribute to her incredible Olympic and World Championships gold medals last year. On track, Beth showed just how strong she is at the moment, producing a flawless day of riding to win all her motos - closely followed by Emily Hutt in second and Markella Houli in third.

In the Junior Men’s category it looked like a battle between George Hunt and Ashton Cooper for the win, however after locking elbows down the third straight this gave Alexander Talbott the momentum to take second from Cooper, with Adam Gilbert rounding off the podium in third place.

Conditions for racing on the Sunday were much better than the day before. In the Superclass category it was Kye Whyte who produced the fastest lap of the day to take the win after passing Quillan Isidore in the last berm - a replica of the pass made in the final the previous day. A really solid ride from Matthew Hutt from Pure Bicycles put him in the final podium position.

Beth Shriever produced her fastest lap of the day in moto four to seal a perfect weekend for the Olympic and World Champion. Emily Hutt rode consistently all weekend and took a well deserved second place, with Staystrong rider Betsy Bax rounding off the top three with a great effort to take third.

The Junior Men's final was drama-filled, with Spencer Gibson getting caught in two separate collisions - stringing the field out. It was George Hunt that went onto take the win ahead of a great lap from Moore Large Radio rider Mark Fletcher. Alexander Talbott finished third.
