Great Britain’s Kyle Evans took a superb win at the St Etienne Indoor BMX on Sunday as one of two podium finishes for the 21-year-old.

Evans was second on Saturday in the Trophy de Nations but went one better on the final day of racing with victory in France.

Britain’s Liam Phillips and Tre Whyte also made the finals on both days.

“It was a fantastic weekend for Kyle against true top level international competition, a really big win for Kyle,” said Great Britain Cycling Team BMX coach Grant White.

“Having three Great Britain riders in the final each day was a solid showing.”

World-championship bronze medallist Whyte took sixth on both days while 2013 world champion Phillips was eighth in the respective finals.

With 15 laps of racing completed over the course of the weekend, White said the competition offered valuable racing time in the winter season as well as Olympic qualifying points.

Next season’s UCI BMX Supercross World Cup will start in April in Manchester.

The UEC BMX European Cup also begins in April in Zolder, Belgium, which will also host the world championships in July.

Both competitions carry Olympic qualifying points as Great Britain aim to secure spots in the Rio 2016 BMX competition.
