The season starter circuit races return to the Tameside Circuit in Ashton under Lyne on Sunday 10 March and Sunday 24 March 2013.  

Organised by Janus RC, the races will include a 50 minute 4th cat men’s event at 10.00am and a 50 minute women only event at 11.15am. Full details and online entry for the events is available here.

The Janus RC Circuit Races follow, with a program of youth, regional A and 4th cat men’s racing taking place on Sunday 7 April.  Full details and online entry for the events is available here.

The popular Tameside Cycling Development Group Tuesday evening League will begin on 16 April and run for 20 weeks throughout the spring and summer months.  Full details of the events on listed on the calendar here.

Coaching sessions

Youth coaching sessions have been taking place on Tuesday evenings throughout the winter months and will continue until 26 March led by Tameside Go-Ride Coach Monica Eden. 

Novice youth riders are encouraged to attend the Go-Ride Race and Skills Session which runs from 6.00pm – 7.00pm. Experienced Youth A, B and C riders are welcome to attend the Youth Chain Gang session which takes place from 7.00pm – 8.30pm.  Please arrive at the circuit to register for the session from 6.45pm.  The cost of each session is £2.  Contact Monica Eden for more information by emailing monicaeden@britishcycling.org.uk

The women’s road race training sessions return to Tameside for eight weeks from 4 February to 25 March 2013.  The sessions will include group riding skills, advice on cornering, starts, sprinting, race scenarios and feedback on bike positions. 

The aim of the sessions is to complement the expanding program of Women’s Road and Circuit race events that are taking place across the North West this year, including the new CDNW Women’s Road Race League which includes five events, beginning on Sunday 3 March with the St Helens CRC Pimbo Road Race.

If you know of any women (16 years and over) in your club or local area who may be interested in attending, improving their fitness, learning about racing, improving their bunch riding skills and developing race tactics please forward the details about the session to them.

Riders are welcome to drop in to any of the sessions to develop their road racing skills, attendance every week is not compulsory.  The training sessions will run from 6.30pm – 8.30pm and the cost is £5.00 per session.
