Story posted August 18, 2010 | Event press Release

Recent Tour of Poland winner, Dan Martin will lead the Garmin – Transitions Pro Cycling Team at The Tour of Britain in September, in a line-up which also includes Tour de France stage winner Robbie Hunter and Brazilian National Champion Murilo Fischer.

Martin recently took the overall honours at the Tour of Poland, winning Stage Five to pull on the leader’s yellow jersey which he held to the end. The former British Junior Road Race Champion, who now races for Ireland, continued to show good form when on Tuesday he added victory in the prestigious Tre Valli Varesine one-day race in Italy.

The 23-year-old also took victory in The Halfords Tour Series Dublin event in June, with a commanding performance on the cobbles that saw him almost lap the entire field. Others in the Garmin preliminary line-up for The Tour are brothers Travis and Cameron Meyer, the current Australian National Road Race and Time Trial Champions respectively. Cameron is also the current World Champion in the Team Pursuit, Madison and Points Race disciplines on the track.

Provisional Garmin – Transitions Pro Cycling Team line-up for The Tour of Britain:
Murilo Fischer; Robbie Hunter; Dan Martin; Martijn Maaskant; Cameron Meyer; Travis Meyer
Reserves: Timothy Duggan; Ricardo Van der Velde; Johan van Summeren
