Welcome to the Scottish Cycling Performance Hub.

Here you can find out more about Scottish Cycling's Performance Pathway including information about Youth Clusters, RACE National Programmes, Performance Development Programme and selection policies for upcoming events.

The Scottish Cycling Performance Programme has a clearly defined set of long-term goals that apply across all of our work – from our Youth Programmes through to those on the Performance Development Programme:

  • More Scottish riders winning more medals at Olympic / Paralympic, World and Commonwealth level, more often.

In order to achieve long term success, we are focused on developing talent.  Our short–medium term primary objective is to:

  • Identify and develop a pool of talented athletes who demonstrate the ability, desire and ambition to achieve at the highest level.
  • This has been our approach over a number of years and following our successes including the numbers of riders achieving membership of British Cycling Performance Programmes, achieving selection to compete for GB, and graduating onto World Tour Teams, we believe we have the right formula.

Performance Pathway

Youth Cluster Sessions

Youth cluster sessions are the first step on the Performance Development Pathway, These sessions provide development opportunities for youth riders who have demonstrated intention or an ability to compete at Scottish regional races and prepare riders for RACE National.

Riders should discuss attendance with their club coach prior to signing up for a cluster session, you can find more information on 2023 Cluster sessions by clicking below:

Road and Track

RACE National

Our RACE National programme is aimed for Youth A (Under 16) or second-year Youth B (Under 14). The programme provides riders with the opportunity to work with Scottish Cycling performance staff, focusing on areas key of rider development; with an eventual aim for riders to progress to the Scottish Cycling Performance Programme, you can read more about RACE National below:
