Thursday 3 May, sees the start of the 2012 Brooks Cycles Track League at the Lyme Valley Velodrome based at the Aspire Stadium, Newcastle- under-Lyme, Staffordshire.

After a successful 2011 where attendances were up in all categories it has been decided to stick with the same format as last year. The A class riders will have a choice of either riding three sprint or endurance races as well as contesting the popular 10 miles scratch event at the end of the night.

In the sprint events there will be a 500m handicap league and a keirin competition run on alternating weeks. In addition, the sprinters will also ride individual sprint races, team sprints and other sprint style events. The endurance riders will have the usual mix of scratch races, devils and points races throughout the season.

Each night will start with the usual Freewheelers League which this year will start at an earlier 6.10pm. This is to ensure their racing is finished by 7pm for the main leagues warm up. Last year saw a massive increase in participation in this league from 34 rider registered in 2010 to 64 riders in 2011.

Entry for each race is on the night and your club does not have to be registered with the association to compete.
