Welsh Cycling Icebreaker Series
Story posted March 15, 2010; Source - Gayle Howells
With the first two rounds of the Welsh Cycling Icebreaker Series proving to be a huge success, the third and final round looks set to be even bigger and better. Riders form all over the UK have been competing for the series overall lead and going into the third round, there are still no clear leaders. With so much at stake for the current leaders, you can guarantee there will be some fireworks.
The bumper entry of 115 riders is the largest number of riders to enter a track event in Wales outside of a National Championship. Welsh riders are currently filling most of the top positions in the overall standings with Max Nethell, Rebecca Hunt, Tomos Owens and Cori Robbins just a few of the Welsh riders keep to keep and eye on.
The event also welcomes back top Welsh riders Matt Cross, Robbie Westwood, Sarah Crowley and Amy Roberts. Events get underway at 10am on the 20th of March and spectators can watch the events free of charge. There will be refreshments available from the track centre. If you like your sporting events to be fast, furious, exciting and a little dangerous then this is the perfect event for you.
