Weekend Racing Round-up: Youth Circuit Series and Good Friday Track Racing

Easter weekend saw the start of this year’s Youth Circuit Series in Pembrey, while Good Friday Track Racing returned to the calendar with a stellar cast of domestic and international riders racing on the boards at Lee Valley. Read our round-up for all of the results.

Youth Circuit Series – Ride Flux GP

Anna Lloyd (VC Londres) started off the season with the GC victory in the Youth A Girls category at Pembrey Country Park, ahead of Gabriella McHugh (VC Londres) and Melanie Rowe (Deeside Thistle CC), while the Open A category was won by Albie Jones (RTD – JsCycleshack) ahead of Casey Humber-Kelly (VC Deal) and Gus Dutton (VC Londres).

The Youth B Girls event was won by Katie Robertson (Clifton CC), with Katie Lawson (Secret-Training.cc) second and Lauren Fox (Mid Devon CC) third, while Billy Ladle made it an impressive weekend for Secret-Training.cc with victory in the Youth B Open category. Harvey Woodroffe (Ely and District CC) and Finlay Burns (Maindy Flyers CC) rounded off the podium.

Outside of the Youth Circuit Series, there were also victories for Seraphina Green (ESV Manchester) and Edward Peters (CTW Racing) in the Youth C Girls and Open categories respectively.

Thanks to all of the team at Ride Flux for hosting the open round of this year’s series, which continues on Sunday 14 April with the Hog Hill GP.

Good Friday Track Racing

Good Friday Track Racing made a welcome return to the Lee Valley VeloPark Velodrome, with a packed programme of UCI level racing for spectators to enjoy.

The elite events saw victories for Lucy Nelson and Frank Longstaff (elimination), Jenny Holl and Will Roberts (scratch), and Miriam Jessett and Will Roberts (points). Pete Mitchell was the winner of the elite sprint event.

The endurance B events were won by Andy Hastings (elimination), Mike Twelves (scratch) and Christopher Johnson (points), while the endurance C events were won by Matthew Hardcastle (elimination), Chris Richmond (scratch) and Sean O’Sullivan (points). Noah Woodhouse was the winner of the support sprint event.
