Bike Shed is proud to launch an exciting and brand new cycle sportive taking place on Sunday 1 June 2014.

Starting and finishing from Barnstaple Square, the Smuggler explores some of north Devon's most epic roads many of which were exploited by smugglers of old, such as the breathtaking Porlock and Lee Bay toll roads that skirt high above the jagged Devon coastline. The Porlock Toll is a magical stretch of tarmac steeped in cycling history with both the Milk Race and Tour of Britain gracing its tarmac.

Riders will be treated to jaw dropping vistas, challenging climbs, epic descents and quiet roads - and of course the finest north Devon food and hospitality will be dished out to fill your bellies and fuel your engine.

With three distances on offer Bike Shed wants to deliver a truly cracking day in the saddle for all levels of rider, help entrants explore an incredible part of the UK and send you home with a smile.

We hope you'll join us in Barnstaple on June 1 for the first ever Smuggler.
