Event: 6 October 2013

It is less than a week to go to the third Lewis Balyckyi Memorial Rides and entries are coming in steadily, with everyone working hard getting sponsorship for the end of ride buffet and prizes for the tombola. The response has been exceptional and very much appreciated.

We have a signed Geraint Thomas MBE Team Sky jersey, a signed National Champ skinsuit from Alex Dowsett. Items from Matt Cronshaw, Team Raleigh, Sam Harrison, a Lotto Belisol shirt from Dan McClay and other prizes too numerous to mention.

Not everything is cycle related, we also have a Manchester United shirt signed by the whole team, and a hotel break for two and a round of golf.

Hopefully we will have some pro riders turning up if they can to show us how it’s done on the climbs, but it’s not a race and intended to be a fun day for all so riders can go at their own pace, with stops available if desired on the routes.

Entering on the day is available if you want to check the weather out first, starting from 9 am. We are hoping for even more entries than last year so we can carry on our road safety work and sponsorship of riders and the North west Air Ambulance.

The NW Air Ambulance will have a stall at the Headquarters and there will be food available for all riders on their return.

We are also opening up the application for sponsorship for the 2014 season. It is open to all riders aged 17 – 23 next year, and will provide monetary assistance for the duration of the road season.

The application will be open from October 6, for four weeks, until November 3.

We hope to see as many people as possible on Sunday.
